It was announced at the Association of Town and City Management (ATCM) awards last week that Derby has retained its Purple Flag status for a further year.
An international accreditation scheme which recognises excellence in managing the evening and night-time economy, the BID has played a key role in helping to retain Purple Flag Status for the city. Those cities in receipt of this award benefit from more visitors, lower crime and anti-social behaviour and improved perceptions.
Derby also received the national award for ‘Best Place’, further recognising the work of Derby City Council, Cathedral Quarter BID and the businesses in the area in providing a safe and enjoyable night out in the city.
