Tickets are now on sale for two special performances at this year’s Derby Festé on Friday 27 and Saturday 28 September 2019.

Close-Act Theatre, will make a welcome return to Festé on both evenings with ‘Malaya’ – a magnificent interactive street theatre production that will transform Bass’ Recreation Ground into a futuristic journey. Close-Act will also give visitors a free preview of the magnificent giant characters on Friday evening as they parade through the St Peters Quarter and Cathedral Quarter.

Cathedral Green will welcome award-winning Catalan circus company Los Galindos  who will perform ‘UduL’ in a small yurt with four one-hour shows – afternoon and early evening – across both days.

The theme of Derby Festé this year is ‘Space, Moon & Tides’ and all the other performances are free of charge including ‘Museum of the Moon’ by UK artist Luke Jerram which will be installed in the majestic Derby Cathedral for visitors to enjoy in the run up to and throughout Derby Festé.

The family-friendly event has been a key feature in the Derby festivals calendar for the past 13 years – attracting more than 30,000 visitors and it is funded by Arts Council England and Derby City Council with sponsorship from Derby Cathedral, University of Derby, Cathedral Quarter and Intu Derby.

Derby Festé is produced and presented by Déda, Derby LIVE, QUAD and Derby Theatre in association with the Without Walls Touring Network Partnership

Tickets for both ‘Malaya’ and UduL’ are available now online at the Déda Box Office 01332 370911;  and for information about all the performances at Derby Festé please visit
