Cathedral Quarter BID and Derby City Council have joined forces to offer a Crime Prevention Scheme for Cathedral Quarter businesses, providing crime prevention solutions for installation within premises in the Cathedral Quarter BID area.
These solutions could include CCTV and other equipment which is intended to assist businesses in protecting their business premises, to improve security and to act as a deterrent to criminal behaviour.
In order to ascertain which options would be best for your premises, we have arranged for a Crime Prevention Officer from Derbyshire Constabulary to be available to visit those who are interested in this scheme. Once we have confirmation of what may be suitable for your premises and have assessed all applications, a decision will be made as to how the equipment is distributed.
Cathedral Quarter BID and Derby City Council will prioritise those businesses in ground-floor units that have unfortunately been a victim of break ins or attempted break ins within the last 12 months. However, this is not a pre-requisite for applying and we would encourage any business that have security concerns and/or believe that crime prevention equipment is needed, to apply.
We invite applications from levy-paying businesses within the Cathedral Quarter BID area only. A map showing the extent of the BID boundary and a list of streets in the BID area can be found in the Cathedral Quarter BID Business Plan which you can view here:
Businesses will be responsible for the installation of the equipment and any ongoing maintenance and energy costs. Businesses will be required to install any equipment within 6 months of receipt. Any equipment which is not installed within this period must be returned to Derby City Council.
