Explore Derby’s city centre with our FREE guided heritage and ghost walks.

Discover the Cathedral Quarter and St Peters Quarter’s ‘’hidden treasures’’ whilst having a fun day out finding all the ram statues scattered around Derby as part of the Derby Ram trail.

Our walks are led by a local guide who has years of experience of leading history and ghost-related guided walks and tours in the area.

Meeting point: the main entrance of Derby Museums, The Strand, Derby DE1 1BS

Length of walking tours: approx. 2 hours including a short break

Max number of attendees: 20 people

Note:

  • The ghost walks are not recommended for children under 16.
  • The enjoyment of this event is weather dependent and all attendees are advised that they wear appropriate footwear and clothing.

Please note that due to COVID-19:

  • All attendees are kindly asked to wear a face mask for the duration of the tours and maintain social distancing where possible.
  • Max number of poeple is subject to review under Government advice and social distancing regulations at the time of the tour commencing.
  • Should the need for cancellation of this event arise, all attendees will be notified via email at least 24 hours prior to the event.

The Ram Trail Guided Walks are organised by the Cathedral Quarter and St Peters Quarter BIDs in partnership with Derby Museums.

About the Derby Ram Trail

The Derby Ram Trail is brought to you by Derby Museums, together with Wild in ArtCathedral Quarter BID and St Peters Quarter BID. The Derby Ram Trail is spectacular free discovery event. From 27th May to 22nd August, a flock of fabulously colourful and unique ram sculptures, each decorated by a different local artist, will take you on a trail around the beautiful city of Derby. Take in baa-utiful open spaces and be inspired by Derby’s cultural heritage along the way.

Cathedral Quarter BID and St Peters Quarter BID are proud to be the Presenting and Trail Partner of the Derby Ram Trail and we look forward to welcoming visitors to the city centre to experience all that the BID areas have to offer.

The Derby Ram Trail is raising valuable funds for Derby Museums’ Endowment.

Our Ram Trail Guided walks are free, however any donations to the Derby Museums Endowment Fund are very much appreciated. Every donation is important to us. If you would like to support the Derby Museums Endowment campaign by making a donation, you can do this by:

  • Making a donation online
  • Visiting the Museum & Art Gallery or Pickford’s House and making a donation in one of their special Endowment donation boxes.

Please donate now to help Derby Museums continue to conserve our rich heritage for future generations. Donations received before 30 September 2022 will be doubled with match funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund, meaning your donation will have double the impact!
