The long awaited Museum of Making will be opening at Derby Silk Mill on Friday 23 May 2021. Celebrating the area’s rich history of innovation, the Museum of Making in the Derwent Valley Mills UNESCO World Heritage Site will be a contemporary space telling Derby’s 300-year history of making to inspire new creativity.
Designed and made by the people and industries of Derby with exhibits, workshops, activities and events, there will be something for everyone including a new café, shop and venue hire spaces.
Entry to the new Museum of Making is free but, due to Covid restrictions, visitors will need to book a timeslot in advance. Timeslots will be available to book from 10am on Tuesday 4th May.
