Now in its third year, this autumn sees the return of Let’s MAKE Christmas in the Museum & Art Gallery shop; a seasonal celebration of contemporary craft produced in the region. From prints and ceramics to jewellery and textiles, you’ll be sure to find the perfect Christmas gift.

We’ll also be taking part in Museum Shop Sunday on Sunday 29 November – watch this space for more details soon.

It’s the Cathedral Quarter Hotel, which was taken over by new management in May. Since then, Sri Lanka-based Lavendish Leisure, say guest bookings are up, and most rooms sell out at the weekend.

Hotelier Isuru Akalanka, the newly appointed operations manager, is enjoying putting his stamp on the Grade II-listed Cathedral Quarter Hotel on St Mary’s Gate and is determined to make it a top destination for visitors to Derby.
