About this workshop:
Learn to add a new lease of life to your old clothes, or mend an item of clothing in a unique and interesting way with this one day hand-embroidery workshop.

During this course you will learn the basic stiches you will need to personalise any item of clothing, and to add your own unique touch to it. Then in the second half of the day, you will be able to put what you’ve learned into practice and start customising an item of your own clothing, with expert guidance provided by Heather.

Hand embroidery is a great way to cover over stains or small holes that might otherwise prevent you from wearing something, and so it’s great for the environment too, saving clothing from being thrown away to landfill.

Who is this course for?
This course is perfect for complete beginners, as well as those with some embroidery experience.

Do I need to bring anything?
All materials, tools, and equipment will be provided, but you will need to bring along an item of clothing to customise. If you don’t have an item of clothing to customise, you will be able to create an embroidered hoop design instead.

Tickets £40.00 / £36 Derby Museums Members & Friends
