As part of ‘Dracula Returns To Derby’ join artist Nicki Dennett in re-imagining Dracula’s cloak, first worn on stage at The Grand Theatre, in Derby in May 1924.
The exterior of the cloak will be made from a series of carborundum prints created in the workshops, particularly focusing on a strong contrast of light and dark. At a later date these will be sewn together to create the exterior of Dracula’s cloak. The prints will be created over two sessions.
The lining of the cloak will be made as a collaborative piece by block printing onto a large piece of fabric. There will be the opportunity to print onto paper if participants wish some prints to take home.
