Explore Derby’s Dracula connections with an orienteering map!

Our 4 routes from the Museum take you round historic theatres and haunted pubs. You can run or walk (in optional fancy dress) round the checkpoints, where you’re timed with a special chip.

£5 for individuals or groups (fee is per timing chip and map, rather than per person). If you want, you can then try a second course for free!

Course lengths:

Newcomers (Spiders) ~ 1.5km
Improvers (Rats) ~ 1.7km
Short technical (Bats) ~ 2.5km
Long technical (Wolves) ~ 3.5km

Beginners very welcome, volunteers from Derwent Valley Orienteers will show you how to get started.

Presented as part of Dracula returns to Derby, an AHRC-funded research project led by the University of Derby in partnership with Derby Museums, Derby Theatre, Bournemouth University and Sheffield Hallam University. A series of public workshops and events that connect the city with the world’s most famous vampire.
